The Kayon Resort

The Kayon Resort is a five-star hideaway on a jungle hillside above the Petanu River in Kendran, about 5 km north-east of central Ubud. It is the original Kayon property and the sister of Kayon Jungle Resort, and it is aimed at couples: children under 15 are not accepted.

Accommodation is split between suites and pool villas. Kayon Garden Suites sit in a two-storey wing among the gardens, Kayon River Suites are built into the river cliff, and the villa categories (River Edge Pool Villa, Premiere Pool Villa and Royal Jacuzzi Pool Villa) each have a private infinity pool, the Royal villas with an outdoor jacuzzi as well. Rooms have terraces, marble bathrooms with bathtubs, minibars and free WiFi.

The main pool sits on a raised mound facing rice fields and jungle. Kepitu restaurant serves fusion dishes with views over the pool, and Canyon Jetty is a riverside deck facing the cliffs and a waterfall. Serayu Spa offers Balinese treatments, and there is a bar, library and room service from 07:00 to 22:00.

A free hourly shuttle runs to central Ubud. Ubud Palace is about 10 minutes by car, the Monkey Forest about 15 minutes and Ngurah Rai Airport around 90 minutes.
