Embers Mediterranean

Embers is the signature restaurant of Bisma Eight Villas, the sister property of Bisma Eight Hotel on Jalan Bisma in central Ubud. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to outside guests as well as residents. The kitchen cooks Mediterranean food over open flames, drawing on Greek, coastal Italian, Persian and Arabic traditions. Menus feature grilled steaks and seafood, handmade pasta and slow-cooked dishes such as 12-hour ember lamb shoulder, charcoal-fired prawns and Kusamba salt scallops. Many vegetables and herbs come from the restaurant's own organic farm and conservatory, which guests can visit. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes are available. Tables sit around an herb garden and under the open sky at night. The bar uses Balinese ingredients in its cocktails, and the setting suits romantic dinners and small celebrations.
