Nyepi Silent Day There is no better place to spend the most meditative 24 hours imaginable over the annual holiday of Nyepi 28 - 30 March 2025 Desa Potato Head From 6am on 29 March to 6am on 30 March, the island will shut down for Nyepi, the Balinese Hindu New Year. Known as the Day of Silence, it is a time for self-reflection, meditation, and spiritual cleansing. During this time, the Beach Club will be closed, and lights will be turned off outside of guest rooms. Please keep light, sound, and movement to a minimum from the evening of 29 March until the morning of 30 March, and keep blackout curtains closed throughout the night. A flashlight is available in your room to help you move around the Desa. The evening before Nyepi, villages across Bali hold the ’ogoh-ogoh’ parade, featuring large, handcrafted effigies of demons and malevolent spirits. These figures are carried through the streets in a lively procession before being burned or discarded, symbolising the cleansing of negative energy ahead of the day of silence.
