Chandi

Chandi sits at Jalan Kayu Aya 72, on Seminyak's restaurant strip. Its kitchen gives Pan-Asian cooking a modern Indonesian slant, using organic greens and fruit and roots from farmers in Bedugul. The menu has large meat, seafood and vegetarian sections, with tempeh and soybean dishes for plant-based diners. Signatures include sate and seafood served on sizzling hot stones, crispy half duck, beef rendang dumplings, an appetizer plate for two and caramelised butterfish in miso dashi. There are chef's tasting and seasonal set menus, a dessert list and a busy cocktail bar. The room is known for its large carved wooden wall behind the bar, with an air-conditioned dining room, garden and terrace seating, a private room for 16 and an upstairs event space, Chandi Diatas. It suits long lunches, happy-hour cocktails and dinner with friends.
